About Me

Hi, I'm Keera.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a BA from Tyndale University, and I'm trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST). Before this, I spent 15 years as a behaviour therapist working with individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. I offer therapy in both English and Tamil.

Those are the credentials. Here's the part that probably matters more to you.

I got into this work because I believe most people are doing the best they can with what they were handed, and that the right support changes what's possible. I'm not the kind of therapist who sits back and nods. I listen closely, I ask real questions, and I'll tell you honestly what I'm noticing. You can also expect me to laugh with you; therapy is serious work, but it doesn't have to be grim.

I work with people from a lot of different backgrounds, and I pay attention to culture, faith, and family context, because those things shape how we understand our own struggles. If faith is part of your life and you want it in the room, it's welcome. If it isn't, that's fine too.

“It is astonishing how elements which seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens.”

— Carl Rogers, A Way of Being (1980)
